Long-term ownership
= responsibility

Responsibility is not a separate track in our operations. It is part of how we own and run businesses. From sustainable construction to research and community engagement. Building long-lasting value is about more than capital. It’s about people, quality, responsibility and time – in our companies, in the sectors where we are active, and in the society we are part of.

Sustainable construction

Sustainable responsibility

Sustainable responsibility

Our generational perspective means that decisions need to hold firm over time. In 2000, Svenska Hus became the first property company in Sweden to receive quality and environmental certification under FR 2000. In 2010, MVB built Sweden’s first passive-house school. Energy efficiency, resource efficiency and sustainable materials are examples of what long-term responsibility means in practice.

Research and foundations

Knowledge that creates
value for coming generations

We want to contribute to developing our sectors. That is why we support research through scholarships, awards and long-term initiatives, in areas including energy-efficient construction.

The Foundation for the Development of Energy-Efficient Construction was established in 2010. From 2021-2026, the Eliasson Family Foundation donated SEK 10m to a professorship in energy-efficient construction at Lund University.

MODERN ART COLLECTION AND HOSPITALET

Giving quality the time it needs

Building value isn’t just about capital. It’s about seeing potential, giving people a creative space and having the patience to let quality develop over time. It applies to companies. And places. And art.

In 2011, Gullringsbo began building a collection of contemporary art. In 2020, Danvikens Hospital, one of Stockholm's most historic buildings, was acquired. Hospitalet and the art collection physically represent the same long-term perspective that characterises our ownership.

ESG

Responsibility across the board

Environment

We reduce the climate impact of our operations and encourage our businesses to do the same. Svenska Hus, one of our companies, operates five solar energy parks in the Gothenburg region. Energy efficiency and sustainable materials are priorities across the whole group.

Social

Our employees should thrive, develop and have genuine influence. We take responsibility for the work environment, diversity and the communities we operate in. Combating corruption and respecting human rights are fundamental requirements we place on ourselves and our suppliers.

Governance

Each business is governed by an independent board. Transparency, accountability and ethics are at the foundation of each business.

Ownership comes with responsibility

Responsibility is part of how we build value over time – for the organisations, the people and the places where we are active.
